Gingerbread Fun!!

Zachary and I carried on the Sheldon tradition of putting together a gingerbread house...we did hit a couple of bumps along the road, but we had fun! And despite the setback, Zachary and I made a good memory and some great scrapbooking pictures!

Setback #1 -- Lindsey, READ DIRECTIONS!!

Setback #2 -- Icing and candy is much better utilitzed if eaten during the process! :)

Setback #3 -- The icing burst so we got to use our fingers!

And finally setback #4 -- It fell apart as soon as we picked it up! Oops! But it did look great while it lasted!

Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving has always been my favorite time of year. This year, I was thinking of all of the reasons why I like it so much -- and so I thought I would share them...I love that there is always a beautiful fire burning in my parents' living room. I love that the house is decorated in fall decor and pumpkins. All of the women in my family stay in the kitchen all morning to cook the pies, turkey, sides, etc. The men stay downstairs and watch all of the football games. Zachary and my nephew Preston stayed glued to the TV during the parades in order to catch a glimpse of Santa. But my favorite part, is that no matter where you are standing in the house -- you can always hear laughter, see smiles and just feel the joy and the love that each family member has for the other. I am so thankful for all of the blessings in my life and my family always remains at the top of that list.

Trip-a-treak!!

Halloween was alot of fun this year -- mainly because Zachary finally understood a little bit about the whole trick or treating idea, or as he puts it, trip-a-treak! He loved his spiderman costume, and to my surprise, he actually kept the mask on for the whole evening. We first went to trunk-or-treat at the church in Watertown, and then went down main street and back. The night then ended with a healthy dinner at Cracker Barrel -- mainly so I could justify feeding my child a TON of candy on our journey back to Cheatham county...a very LONG journey at that!! Overall, it was a good evening and great memory!
This was Zachary's best impression of Spiderman...

Okay -- so, not too scary -- but it was the effort that counts!
And of course, we saw a playground and had to take time out to swing!

Some of the other children at church...
And then -- Halloween wouldn't be the best unless Petey was there too! Although I couldn't justify spending $$ on a costume for him this year -- so he went as Petey! :)
