Happy Birthday Eli

Eli was born on April 23rd at 7:57pm! Despite being preterm, he weighed in at 7lbs 4oz and was 20" long! However, his lungs were still underdeveloped and he was immediately taken to the NICU and intubated. (He had a breathing tube put in.) He is currently still in the NICU but is making strides every day! Our hope is that he will be home with us by the weekend. I don't have much time to update, but I did want to post some pics of the little man. I will post more updates as I have time. Until then, your prayers are very much appreciated!!

Another Generation of Flag Football

So the little man started flag football tonight! This was his first practice and has practice/games every Saturday throughout the end of June. He had a lot of fun and really got into everything the coach taught him. Nathan is an assistant coach to this team, but couldn't make it to practice tonight -- so expect to see more pics of Coach B as the season progresses. :)

Here is Zachary scoring his first touchdown!
Playing the running back.
Playing QB...
It's all about the defense!
And he got to play center as well..

And here they are...either running laps or pretending to be airplanes... It's a toss up!

The Finishing Touches

Sunday evening when we got home, I got to work on Eli's room! Mom's stuff looks GREAT and really pulls it all together!

A closer look...

Details, details, details...

Ashleigh and Maggie went in on this stuff for Eli...absolutely adorable!

Now all that is missing is HIM!

Easter Sunday 2009

Our Easter Sunday morning started at 0645 when Zachary climbed into our bed to make us aware that the Easter Bunny didn't come to our house! Zachary swore up and down he looked everywhere and didn't see any evidence of the Bunny's visit...that is, until we realized that he was looking out the windows to see where all the eggs were! :) I told him to go stand on the couch in the living room to look out on the front porch -- the next thing we hear is "Oh man!!!"
~~~~~
Alas, the Easter Bunny did come by and leave the baskets on the couch! :) Zachary had a blast going through his and Eli's baskets! It is always so much fun for us to witness his excitement at every aspect of life...especially when it involves candy!
Diggin' In Deeper!
After church in Watertown, we headed to my parents' house where all the family got together to celebrate. We not only celebrated Easter, but my and Tabatha's birthdays too! I'll have more pics to post soon of everyone there (hint, hint Maggie!) but until then...these pics are of me opening the surprise Eli presents! My mom made the bedding for his nursery and did a wonderful job!!
The curtain...
The bumper pad...Zachary loved it!
The comforter...
After the party was over, Zachary was very tired...and so was Peepaw, Maggie and Petey!
On the way home...
Sunday School Easter Egg Hunt
Saturday was another Easter Egg Hunt at church...this time for the children's Sunday School classes. We weren't sure if we were gonna get to go due to all the storms that came through, but it turned out to be a nice afternoon. Zachary had a good time and got tons more candy!
Preschool Easter Egg Hunt
Yesterday was Zachary's Easter Egg Hunt at preschool and I am so glad that I was able to go and be a part of it! He did really well and came home with 40+ eggs filled with all kinds of goodies. He also got his picture made with the Easter Bunny who came to visit the children. He loves Little Lights and Nathan and I are so thankful to have such a great place for him to attend two days a week that is also a christian atmosphere...and so close to home!
*****
Here are the two three year old classes...
And here is the prize...
On your mark...
Get set...
GO!
Zachary didn't waste any time at all...in fact, I don't think he looked up once during the race!
This is where he figured out that if he put the basket on the ground...he could use BOTH hands!
Some of the other egg hunters...
Zachary and Addie....they actually have the same birthday!
Zachary and Bethany
Zachary and his teacher, Mrs. Lori
We finished up the afternoon by meeting Nathan at the mall for some fun on the playground, then Zachary and I went for slushies at Sonic. And then it was back home on the couch! But it was a good sneak peak away while it lasted!
