Christmas Eve Service, 2011

Every year on Christmas Eve, we meet at our church around 5pm for the candlelight service.  This is always a sweet experience for our family and for our children.  We get to do the Lord's Supper, sing Christmas Hymns, talk about the true meaning of Christmas and light the candles.  And then it is usually off to Granny Hudson's house for a huge family Christmas party.  Also pictured below are some of our boys' favorite people at church...Mr Scott, Mrs Deanna and Reagan.  Our boys sit with them every Sunday morning while Nathan and I are in the choir and they have since Zachary was little!  We love them so much and appreciate them more than I can explain!  Scott is fighting his own battle with cancer right now and so we are so thankful for the progress that he has made over the last 18 months.  Praise the Lord for all kinds of miracles this year!

Christmas Date Night

Nathan and I had a GREAT time on our Christmas date this year!  We went to Louise Mandrell's Christmas Dinner Party at the Opryland Hotel.  It was amazing!  We were at table #13 which was right down front and in the middle!  Plus, we realized during dinner that we were seated at the same table as her family - which was pretty neat too!  Dinner was a three course meal and was delicious!  I was amazed at how many instruments Louise can play too!!  (as you will see pictured below)

After the show we walked around the gardens and got some pictures.  I am very thankful that we ran into some of our friends (Will & Holly W) because we were having trouble getting a good picture in front of the tree.  Thanks and kudos to Holly for helping us out with that one!!  Anyway -- it was a great night.  Thanks Nate for planning the whole evening!

 

We Wish You A Merry Christmas!

One thing I love about this time of year is all of the annual events that go on that have become traditions for our little family.  One of those traditions that we really enjoy is Christmas Caroling with our church.  Usually, the Wednesday night before Christmas, we all load up on the city's trolley and go around the main streets and carol to people.  This is such a joyous time and Zachary has always really enjoyed it.  Eli got into it really for the first time this year -- and he was so adorable telling everyone "Merry Christmas" in that adorable 2 year old voice and speech.  After caroling, we all head back to the church for a chili supper and fun fellowship.  We had a great time this year and I was so glad that the weather was nice enough for Tyler and myself to go too!
