The B-I-B-L-E

Well Zachary was a true champ tonight at church. He has been practicing singing The B-I-B-L-E at home with his guitar all week long...all in efforts to sing it in front of the church tonight for 5th Sunday Sing Celebration. He was put down on the list of singers at the very front...which he wanted nothing to do with that! But after he saw other people get up and sing and he loosened up a bit, he was ready to go!! Once he got on stage it took him about thirty seconds to get his nerve up -- but then once he started, he brought the house down! :) His words to me when he came to sit back down were:

"Mommy, that was GREAT! Thanks so much!!!"

Gosh, our little one is all grown up and singing solos at church! He definitely has some Sheldon in him for sure!! Stay tuned because he is already practicing his next song!! We couldn't have been prouder of our little man!

Sheldon Girls Night

This weekend, all the Sheldon sisters got together for a night of fun. Mom went all out of her way, as she does every time we do this, to make the night extra special. We had a wonderful steak dinner with surprise gifts for all of us. The table was beautiful as you can see below! Next, we did a great Bible study on Psalms 139...and then it was off to the den for some chick flicks. The next day, we all went to Dad's church in Kingston Springs and sang together as a family again. It was a lot of fun and I am glad that I was able to be a part of it this year. Let's just say we changed our doctor's orders to "modified bedrest" for the weekend! :)
Thanks mom!

32 Weeks!!

Yesterday was my 32 week check up! Things are moving along better than expected -- though I must say that it is still wearing me out quite a bit! We've only been back to the hospital twice since our admission a couple of weeks ago, but got to come home after everything got back under control. As I said for last week's update, we were trying out a Terbutaline pump...which my heart did not tolerate at all! And we stopped Indocin on Saturday -- so we are currently on no tocolytic medicines! Which is why we get to make a trip to Nashville every time things start up again! The good news is that Eli looks great! Zachary got to go with me to my appointments and so he was super excited to get to see his little brother on the ultrasound. We are currently still on bedrest -- blah, blah -- and we are already 50% and 1cm! And Eli has already "dropped" into that "I'm ready to be born" position! Our new goal is to get to 34 weeks, which is a week and a half away....WE CAN DO IT! After that -- all is fair game! We'll keep you updated!

Happy Birthday Zachary...FINALLY!

We had a blast at Zachary's birthday party on Saturday. It is always a blessing when our families can all get together for some fun. Zachary really enjoyed getting to ride his bike everywhere and it was nice for me to have so many helping hands during this crazy time! (And it was great to play hookie from bedrest for a couple of hours!) We think we will probably be doing his party in the spring from now...it was his idea initially, but it is so much easier to plan a party when you don't have to worry about freezing rain and snow! He got tons of presents...thanks everyone! But most of all, he enjoyed being with his aunts, uncles and grandparents. All along he has wanted a "Fireman" birthday party...as you saw by the posted invitation last month...but when we went to pick out the cake, it was all about basketball! Lesson learned....don't take the kid with you when picking out birthday supplies! Alas, the theme worked out okay and he loved it...and that's what matters the most. Thanks to everyone who came out to make this day extra special for our little man.

:) Just like his daddy!

Zachary got camera shy when everyone sang to him...it was pretty cute.

My boys!
It's present time!
Zachary LOVES his new guitar! You can tell he has a lot of Sheldon in him due to his love of music!

A Week Away

Last week, Zachary and I spent five days with my parents...or as Zachary says, "Four whole nights!!" He is on spring break these two weeks and so we went down for a change in scenery, new movies to watch and someone for Zachary to play with during the day while I lounged around. (Trust me, this whole lying down junk is getting very old!) We did get to go and visit my grandparents on Wednesday -- which is where the pic of Zachary and Preston was taken. We missed Nathan terribly, but we did have a lot of fun while we were away! Thanks Grammie, Peepaw, Uncle Ben, Aunt RaeRae and Preston for the fun entertainment!

31 Weeks

Well, we've made it to 31 weeks! Eli is still doing great -- and if you can see the pic clearly, he still has some chubby cheeks! We get to stay on our meds as of right now until Sunday when we hit our 32 week mark! And we are going to try a Terbutaline pump (like an Insulin pump, but for preterm labor) this week so we will keep everyone updated on how it all goes! Praise the Lord! And even better -- Dr. Trabue said I can start getting up and walking around if we make it to 36 weeks! One day at a time but there is no disputing that our little one's birthday is getting closer!

Working on the Nursery

So I've decided on a new nursery theme...imagine that! I really am loving this whole "blue/brown" theme going on right now. Actually, the inspiration came from one of Eli's new blue and brown striped outfits! So -- when I pitched the idea to Nate, he loved it!! Saturday, the 14th, was supposed to be Zachary's birthday party, but we had to post-pone it a week due to the weather...so instead, we PAINTED! And we love it! Eli's room is actually started to get me really excited...I guess because it is really making it all seem very real and close! While I didn't get to help as much as I wanted to due to "bedrest" orders, it was fun watching Zachary get so excited about him painting Eli's room. In his words, "Eli can never pick on me when he gets born because I will just say, Eli - Hush! I painted your room!" Haha!! I love me some Zachary!
~~~~~
Okay, seriously this outfit was put together by my four year old when I told him that he could paint if he put on old clothes...and boy did he pick out a keeper!
Putting the tape on the wall was the hardest part -- and the most boring!
Once we got the brown on the walls -- we both got a little nervous about how it was gonna turn out...
Zachary and I worked on Eli's letters for his room while Nathan finished the trip.
And despite our worries, the stripes and the room turned out great!
Ignore the shelve decorations...I was just sticking some stuff up there...
And here is the fabric for his bedding...my mom is making it and I can't wait to see how it all turns out! I'll post the finished project when it all comes together!
