Well we got back our photo proofs from the photo shoot -- two thick books with over 150 pictures! So kudos to me for only posting 20!! These are my favorites below...but we have a lot of work to do to figure out which ones we want to order! I scanned all these pics though -- so the photo quality might not look too good -- but in real life, they are FABULOUS!!

We had our family pictures done on Thursday night which included Eli's newborn pics, Zachary age 4, Family pics, Eli & Zachary pics and Nate/Lyn pics. We've tried on two prior days to get these done but on our first attempt, Zachary did a face dive into the Wal-Mart floor the night before...busted nose and two busted lips. Nada. So the second attempt - the day of the shoot Zachary ran into a corner table and busted his bottom lip again...nada. So I wrapped him in bubble wrap and we made it on our third attempt! :)

These pics below are just a few...I think we shot over 400! And actually, these pictures don't have the best quality because they were copied from her website images. I'll post more when I get them, but I had to go ahead and show off the two most beautiful little boys in the world! (Their parents are pretty hot too!) :) Anyway -- more to come soon, until then - enjoy!

A Funny Moment

So we had a good Memorial Day weekend as we went to my parents' house on Sunday afternoon so that we could go sailing on Monday. However, as you probably guessed -- the rain held us back from that plan. So, Dad and Mom watched the boys while Nate and I had a day out. We went to the Cheesecake Factory for lunch, shopped around the Green Hills Mall and watched Terminator...yes, I am a truly wonderful wife for not only sitting through that crazy movie -- but actually paying attention to it! (I did tell Nathan at the end that he owed me 7 chick flicks for this one movie!) :) Anyway -- needless to say it was a great day.

So last night as we were headed home, Zachary and I were playing our "Opposites" game. Which in all honesty, is really an "Its different" game -- but he is learning! So, here is our conversation which cracked me and Nate up so much that I had to post this...

A Day Out

Well today marked the first picnic lunch as a family of four....the first of many I'm sure! This has always been one of our favorite things to do as a family...really, ever since Nathan and I started dating! Cracker Barrel Corporate offices are located about a mile from Don Fox Park in Lebanon, so we meet up with Nathan frequently for lunch in the park -- and today was the first day that Eli joined us for that tradition! We haven't really taken Eli out much, and still don't plan to for another couple of weeks -- but since we were in the open air and I could keep his face covered - we figured the fresh air would do us all some good! After lunch, we walked around the park while Zachary rode his bike and then we hit up the ice cream truck! Eli slept the entire time -- but we all really enjoyed the afternoon!

And here is Eli sleeping in his new favorite spot -- I know, its awful but adorable! I think he likes it so much because it feels like someone is holding him!

Whatever Works, Right?

Okay, so for the record I love being a mom of two! And I am so proud of how Zachary is handling everything -- especially the "Big Brother" role. He wants to help with every aspect of Eli -- the diapers, the crying fits, feedings, bath, getting dressed, etc. I really have tried to involve him as much as possible too -- by letting him pick out the outfits (with a little help, of course!), help get the diapers ready, help wash Eli, etc. However, the feeding part has been a little more complicated. Eli still isn't quite strong enough for nursing yet - so he is still taking milk from a bottle. Zachary has been dying to help feed him -- but it is hard for him to hold Eli and the bottle and Petey all at the same time! :) So the other night -- I figured out a solution to that problem! In the pics below, Zachary was able to feed Eli the whole bottle (with interruptions for burping of course) while I fixed dinner! It was perfect! Not to mention the Eli is loving this new "holding area" -- he sleeps so well in it! Hey, it's like the title of this post -- whatever works, right? :)

And this was just an adorable shot -- I didn't realize the spit up marks on his outfit showed up so much until the pic was already taken -- oh well, that's a newborn for you!

Little Lights Preschool Graduation

Tonight was graduation at Little Lights Preschool. The theme for this year was “America” and the service was precious! While Zachary’s class doesn’t graduate until next May, they did perform several songs for everyone. They sang Wave a Little Flag, Yankee Doodle, Jesus Loves Me, Hickory Dickory Dock and Hey Diddle Diddle. They also recited the ABC’s and said the Pledge of Allegiance. All of the children did such a great job and there were many proud parents in the room! They also asked all the children questions about their families, favorite Bible story, etc. A lot of the three year olds were pretty quiet when talking into the microphone…but not our Zachary! Just watch the video at the bottom of this post…it speaks for itself!

I can’t express how much Zachary has loved preschool this year. I am so thankful that we have a Christian preschool so close to home and at our home church! Its hard to think back to when I taught the three year old class the first year that this preschool opened – and now here we are six years later and my little one has completed this school year and ready to move up! My oh my how time flies! While I am looking forward to spending the summer with Zachary and Eli – I am excited about the opportunities that lie ahead for him in Ms. Paulette’s class this fall! Ms. Paulette, Ms. Nell, Ms. Pam and Ms. Lori – yall have done a WONDERFUL job with the children this year – God Bless You!
