Zachary's Fist Trip to the Zoo!!

Nathan and I took Zachary to the zoo for the first time this past Saturday! He had a blast and loved looking at all of the new and exciting animals....he thought that the monkeys looked liked his daddy!! (Haha -- I knew he was a genius!) He had a blast riding on the carousel, feeding the animals, watching the "ephalant" take a bath and running around so Nathan and I could chase him all afternoon! (Note to self: bring the stroller next time -- after all, he is only two!) As you can see from the picture below -- he was worn out when we left and fell asleep within sixty seconds!! After the zoo, we had a great time at dinner with my family at my parent's house -- Zachary loves his Grampa, Grammie and all of his aunts and uncles! All in all -- it was a great weekend!

Before I Was A Mommy...

~ For My Little Zachary ~

Before I was a mommy
I read books and did my hair.
Before I was a mommy,
I had stylish clothes to wear.
Before I was a mommy,
I could go out in the city.
Before I was a mommy,
I had a purse so itty-bitty.
Before I was a mommy,
my routine was functional.
Before I was a mommy,
I was much more punctual.
Laundry happened once a week.
The restaurants where I ate were chick.
My car was clean. My house was neat.
But even with the freedom, the clothes,
the purse, the car, the hair....
Before I was a mommy,
Well, it really can't compare!!

Friday Night Clinicals

Okay -- let's face it -- spending Friday nights from 3p-11p in a hospital for clinical is not that much fun! But at least the people that I get to hang out with are a blast! Clinicals are almost over and then only two remaining semesters before I am a college grad!! Can I get a "woot-woot" for that one!!

Supper Thyme, What??

Mom and I had a blast last night!! We went to a cooking place in Franklin called Supper Thyme. We basically went around from station to station in this place and made up all of these crazy meals!! I am talking -- meals that you only see good ole' Martha make on TV...I mean, come on people, lets be honest -- how many of us have actually wrapped chicken around cheese, spinach, mushrooms, dried tomatoes, etc??? Told you it was pretty awesome! The meals we made included Barbecued Chuck Roast, Cajun Pork Tenderloin, Capri Stuffed Chicken Breasts, Chicken Alamandine, Cranberry Chicken and Thai Shrimp Stir-Fry!! Pretty sure that Nathan, Zachary and I are gonna be eating very high over the next two weeks! Mom and I are going to try to talk my other sisters to join in with us -- this just might be the new Sheldon Girls Tradition!!

Too Funny

Just a cute "I love chocolate chip cookies!" pic of Zachary and a very horrible -- yet funny joke! Kudos to my sis Rachel for this one...

So there were these two cannibals and they were "munching down" on a clown. (gross, I know) One of the clowns said, "I think there is something wrong with this meat!" "Why" asked the other guy?? "I don't know" he said, "it just tastes really funny to me!!"
HAHA! LOVE IT!

Zachary's First Fishing Trip

Pretty sure Zachary enjoyed his first fishing trip!! He was so adorable trying to actually cast out his line and reel it in -- actually, I think he enjoyed throwing bread into the water the most!! The funnest part was when I would catch a fish -- I would ask Zachary to help and when he would take the rod we would all act as though he caught the fish instead -- he was so proud of himself!! And we all loved every minute of it!

Prayers Requested...

Actually -- I already have a new blog to post... While I am thinking about it, I would like to ask for prayers for my heart -- literally. As most of you know, I developed heart disease while I was pregnant with Zachary in 2004. This has been an ongoing issue ever since -- despite all of the medications that the doctors have tried. This past April I had heart surgery where the doctor's believed that they had fixed my problem, however, it turns out that this issue is still going on. Needless to say, they are talking about having to go back and perform the procedure all over again. I am trying not to get down about this, but honestly, I am just worn out. Plus, I am getting a little impatient since my and Nathan's "baby plans" have been put on hold per the doctors until this is resolved. Tentatively, I am going to try to have the procedure done again in August -- this way I can get through the summer, enjoying it, and then have surgery before school starts again for fall semester. So there you go -- that is my prayer request...just pray that the doctors will fix my heart, that the surgery does go well (because it is a dangerous one), and that this time I will have no more problems. If things don't go well, the next step will be to up my cardiac meds and put in a pacemaker -- pretty sure I am trying to stay away from that one!! Thanks friends -- and I will keep you updated as I know more information.

New To Blogging...

So I heard about this whole blogging thing from a friend -- maybe I'll figure it out and be able to use this to keep in touch with my family that has ended up so spread out!! For now -- here are a few of my favorite pics of my little family...
