Nathan and I celebrated our 8th Anniversary while on vacation this year - so we decided to really celebrate it!! After the day on the island, Zachary and Eli went back to the cabins with Grammie and Peepaw and Nathan and I stayed the night on the island. We checked in at the Harbour View Inn -- which was beautiful -- and got ready for a night on the town!! At 5pm a horse drawn carriage picked us up outside the hotel and took us to the Grand Hotel on the island for our five course dinner, ballroom dancing and tons of live jazzy music. We had so much fun and it is definitely something that we will do again! Our room at the hotel was set in a beautiful Victorian setting and has a gorgeous balcony and harbor view! We missed the kids a lot but were thankful for the night away!

2010 Vacation: Mackinaw Island
Our trip to Mackinaw Island was super fun again this year! We did all the normal traditions of riding bikes, watching fudge be made, taking carriage rides, going up to arch rock and eating ice cream! (Which you will see that Eli did NOT want to share!!) Zachary really enjoyed the ferry ride this year -- and the horses! Eli just took all of it in -- literally! :)

Nate loves to take scenary pics when we go on vacation. And kudos to him for getting some great shots!! I'm always so concerned with getting great pictures of the boys and the family that I sometimes forget to get them of our surroundings. And while "Sheldon Beach" doens't change that much from year to year, he contiues to get some beautiful pics!! Good job Nate-Dogg!! 2010 Vacation: Beach Pics
We went on our annual trip to Mackinaw City, Michigan again this year. Every year that I get to go I am reminded of how blessed our family is to have this tiny piece of heaven on earth to call our own. There have been so many memories made there over the last 27 years of my life, and I love to watch my children go and make memories there as well.

Zachary's First Day of School
Let's try this post again....
So my apologies for more slide shows, but I am trying to get caught up here!! Zachary's first day of school was before we went on vacation....yes, I took him back out for a week but we managed alright! We all did really well with it too....Nathan got teary-eyed in the room and was fussing at me not to let Zachary see "my emotions" ... haha. Nate had to leave earlier than I did and I held it together great.....until I walked out the door to leave. All I could think was....how did this hallway get so long????? I lost it -- I mean, I'm talking sobbing tears, trying to hold my breath, etc....I could not get out of that school fast enough!! Needless to say, things have gotten a lot better. I hate that he is old enough to be gone five days a week - but I am very thankful that he is loving every minute of it!!!
