When The Cats Away....

Or in our case, "When Eli is sleeping..." :) Well, we didn't hit the snow the first day because I felt HORRIBLE!! But Saturday we did have some snow fun while Eli was napping...and daddy was home to play too. The snow at our house was beautiful -- and Zachary was super excited to watch it fall and build up.

My little buddy...
Okay - so before you ask... These next pictures are COMPLETELY redneck, I know! But, nothing works better on TN snow than a knee board -- so yes, we are sledding on ours!! And also a disclaimer -- please understand that we were wearing SEVEN layers, or as Zachary said, 7 "flavors" -- so ignore how big I look in these pictures! At least we were warm!

Here we go!

After Christmas Christmas Date

Mom and Dad kept the boys two weeks ago so we could go on our "After Christmas Christmas Date" as we have ended up calling it over the years. We always enjoy getting to spend time together, and this year was GREAT because we did one of my favorite things!! We went to Opryland to see the Christmas lights...I LOVE CHRISTMAS LIGHTS! (Almost as much as starting IVs!!) Going to the gardens at the Opryland Hotel is one of my favorite things to do -- at any time of year, but to see them all decorated for Christmas was just awesome!! :) And as usual, the lights were beautiful - we had a great night. Thanks Grammie & Peepaw!!
~~~
The evening started with dinner at Flemings...wonderful food!
This was such a beautiful scene!
The outside lights were just as breathtaking!
And I love their nativity scene!
Under Heavy Construction
We have done a lot of work on the extension since I last updated on that subject! Nathan took the week after Christmas off and he and Byron worked night and day on the house! It was neat to have Nathan home that much...it kind of reminded me of our first summer we spent at camp together when we starting dating. We got to eat all three meals together, give each other funny looks through the windows, cross each other's path on purpose, etc. It's just the little things that make a difference!!
Anyway - the guys got a lot of work done...here are the pictures to prove it!
Obviously, pics of the foundation.
The subfloor...
More work has been done, but the pictures will be a while...
(It's too cold to go take them!)
