VBS 2009

Okay...Now that we are home from vacation -- let's get updated on some posts!!
~~~~~
A couple of weeks ago, we had Vacation Bible School at church. We followed the theme The Boomerang Express and we all got to pretend that we were in Australia for a whole week! It was a lot of fun with kangaroos, didgeredoos and all! VBS is always a lot of fun in Watertown - and we usually have a ton of children come too. I think this year we had about 150 kids! Praise the Lord!
Nathan got to help his dad with the 5th grade and I was blessed to get to do the music for the preschool kids again. I love this age -- they are so eager to learn and they have so much fun too! Not to mention that we all get to act like kids again when you are with this age group! The music was beautiful this year, as usual and the songs were so sweet. But the biggest plus was that the message of them was portrayed very well. All in all - it was a great week!
On the last night, we have a parents' night where the kids get to perform for their families. It is usually a lot of fun -- and guess who was dead center on stage? Yep, our Zachary!
Eli enjoyed his first VBS too -- I think he learned alot about sleeping in his class! That week was when he started sleeping all the way through the night!
The kids had a competition too during the week to see who could raise more money for Baptist Missions...it was between the boys and the girls. The boys did win -- but the leaders and their husbands all got pies in the face! The kids loved it! I think the grand total raised from the kids' pocket change was almost $500!
