Okay - so I know that some of you that will read this post will think, "big deal...it's the first grade..." but I must brag on my little Zachary for a moment!! I told Zachary that if he made all A's (or S's on his report cards) that he could have a family date to Chuck-E-Cheese during fall break. And boy - is this kid ever impressive!! Not only has he brought home mostly "S+" and the rest "S" on his report card, but he is doing unbelievable in school. I met with his teacher right before fall break for a parent/teacher conference. She showed me Zachary's grades so far for the year. On everything he has done in school this year so far, including all his spelling tests, math assignments, home readers, center assignments and homework -- he has missed two answers. TWO!!! And we found out a few weeks ago that Zachary was the only one in his entire first grade class that didn't miss even one question on his benchmark testing. (For those of you who don't know, that is the TCAP testing for first graders!!) So yes, needless to say that we had tons of reasons to celebrate! He is so proud of himself and so are we. We tried to do the family date while on fall break, but since everyone was sick, we celebrated this exciting news last weekend.
We started the night off with dinner at Carrabas, three hours and 650+ tickets later, we headed home. Two words: So Proud.
