San Francisco, Baby!

At the end of January, I was able to go on a short (very short) travel nursing assignment and I am so thankful that I got to go and have this experience!!  I went to San Francisco baby!!  I'll break this trip up into two posts but will tell about the whole trip during this one.  I flew out of Nashville on Saturday and landed in San Fran that evening.  I then spent the next five hours getting checked in to the nursing company, hotel, etc.  I met my roommate -- who was wonderful -- and then we headed to the hotel that we would be staying at....only The Marriott Marquis on Union Square!!  Hot diggity-dog!  That night after check in I went to my first Irish Pub which was a local "place to go" and it was wonderful.  Best prime rib ever!!  Sunday morning was orientation day (10hrs!!) but then it was off to China Town for dinner and shopping and a drive through Little Italy.  Monday was my day off and I really had a blast!  I visited Alcatraz Island first thing that morning, then it was off to Fisherman's Warf, shopped Pier 39, visited the Ghiardelli Factory, saw the Golden Gate Bridge and saw the Trolleys!!  Tuesday I headed over to Oakland (where I was working) and shopped Tuesday morning, worked by 16 hour shift through Tuesday night, got off Wednesday morning and headed back home!  Like I said, quick trip but crazy fun!  I missed the boys a lot too (especially since this was my first time away from Eli or Tyler) but we all made it through!!  Kudos to Nathan for picking up the slack at home so that I could go!  He gave me some grief for all the "fun" that was had on this trip, but he was thankful that I got to go too!  Besides, I marked off a bunch of things from my bucket list including buying a hot dog from a stand on the side of the road and riding in a taxi!!  Woot - woot!!  These first few pics are from my iPhone that I thought were too cool not to share.
