Snow Days in Tennessee

"To appreciate the beauty of a snow flake, it is necessary to stand out in the cold."

Well the snow started pouring in around 7pm last night -- as Zachary and I watched from our windows on the second floor, the excitement filled the air as I told him all about snow, sledding and building snowmen. Zachary was reluctant to go to bed -- and a couple of times when I went to check on him, he was kneeled before his window looking out at the white flakes falling from the sky....the next morning would be a fun one for sure!!

Then the morning sun came out -- and the snow began to melt! By the time we got all dressed up, ate breakfast, found our hats, gloves and scarfs -- the snow was almost gone. But that didn't stop us -- after all, how often do we Tennesseans get to go sledding?

Nathan came down and brought over a sled, and we searched high and low for a spot of snow that the sun had not turned into muddy water; finally we found our spot. Zachary was not too excited about sledding - he is still in that "unsure" three year old state -- but we had fun teaching him to make snow balls -- and then of course teaching him to throw them at mommy!
My camera is at my parent's house - so I used his Fisher Price digital camera. The pictures weren't of great quality, but the memory makes up for what the camera lacked to capture.

I did manage to make a pretty impressive snowman...

Small, but still impressive!!

And then when I hand the snowman to Zachary to take a picture - he chucks it at me!!
(Oh the joys of little boys!)
