So I just found out last week that I have been accepted at Vanderbilt Children's Hospital in their Pediatric Nurse Residency program post graduation. I sent my formal acceptance on Friday and I will start this program in June.
The plan is that I will spend time working on all of the critical care areas in the hospital -- Pediatric Intensive Care, Neonatal Intensive Care, Post-Anesthesia Care Unit, the Emergency Room, Cardiovascular Care and finally, the Hematology/Oncology units. My goal is to eventually end up with the oncology children, in hopes to do some travel nursing to St. Jude's, Johns Hopkins, etc. Graduation is in two weeks -- though I have officially finished actual classes and clinical. Its hard to believe that it is finally here -- but I am totally ready for the changes! (And the money!)
I am so excited about being done with school and I cannot wait to start doing all the fun "mom" things with Zachary that I feel as though I have missed out on... We already have a trip planned every week through the summer...not BIG trips, but small and fun ones. Some of them include: Nashville Shores, The Zoo, The Aquarium, a Sounds game, trips to the park, our annual vacation to Michigan, Chuck-e-cheese, sail boating with Grampa, etc.... I guess what I am getting at is that there are going to be a lot of new pics coming very soon -- so stay tuned!
Zachary starts preschool this fall too -- he is going to The Gardner School in Nashville starting in August -- only two days a week though. However, he has to wear a cute little uniform -- red vest with an emblem and everything -- so that will make for some adorable pics too! However, I am not rushing this new adventure one bit!

That sounds like a great plan (all around!) I have a good friend at St. Jude's in the ICU, so if you need a connection let me know!
