Update on Eli

Well, we got to come home with Eli on Thursday afternoon...which was also the first day that Zachary got to meet his little brother! It was touch and go to see if the "coming home" celebration would even take place with Eli's bilirubin on the rise and Zachary at my parents' house with a fever...but everything turned out okay.
So today we have been home for one week and Eli is 2 weeks old! He went to the pediatrician on Friday, Monday and Wednesday for jaundice check-ups and finally yesterday we found out that his bili level is starting to go down. His "glow-in-the-dark" appearance is finally starting to resolve! Whoo-hoo! The other side effect of a high bili level is that the baby sleeps alot...so Nathan and I have been enjoying our three and a half hours of sleep at a time up until last night! Eli getting better = more feeds at two and a half hours apart! :) While last night we talked about being rather sleepy, we are very thankful that Eli is starting to act more like a newborn! We wouldn't have it any other way! Eli's weight is increasing too. He was born at 7lbs 4oz and dropped to 6lbs 10oz, but yesterday we were back up to 7lbs 2oz. Praise the Lord for all the wonderful changes! Things are starting to look like they are leaning our way!
Anyway -- I did want to post some updated pics...and I am sure that there will be more to come very soon! Until then, fight your jealousy because I now have the two most adorable sons in the world! (And a hot husband if I must say so myself!) :)

This was the first day we got to hold him!

This was Wednesday night during our "Room In" visit -- we were so happy to be able to take care of Eli without a room full of people looking over our shoulders! I did get a few of Nathan with him, but for some reason the format isn't reading -- so I will try and post those later.

Going Home Day!
Lord he looks so yellow!

Zachary the BIG BROTHER
Eli the LITTLE BROTHER
He was cautious around him at first, but Zachary has really taken on the big brother role...he is such a great kid! Nathan and I couldn't be more proud of him!
The first time Dad got to see him since the night he was born...and actually this is the first time that he got to hold him too!
:) My little boys.

Grandaddy and Granny getting to hold Eli for the first time!

Have I mentioned how much I love this man?
