Well, this past week has just flat out been CRAZY for our little Barnes family!
On SuperBowl Sunday, Zachary woke up at 0400 with a small fever and saying that he didn't feel very well. So we gave him some Tylenol and put him in bed with us. At 0830, Zachary woke up again with a fever of 102.8 and a rash. It looked like a sunburn rash that could perfectly be explained by his high fever, so I didn't think much of it...I gave hime some Ibuprofen, sent him back to bed and got Nathan off to church. About an hour later, I went to check on Zachary and noticed that the rash was spreading...and very quickly! Despite the fact that his fever was coming down and that I had also given some Benadryl. Long story short, the night ended with us spending six hours at the Children's hospital to rule out the chicken-pox (not good for a pregnant mom) and found out that he had strepthroat, scarlett fever and was also having an allergic reaction to something. (Which we still don't know to what...) We hung out the next three days at home on some medicine and he got better. Thank God -- I was pretty scared for him there for a little while. He looked like he had fallen asleep in the sun for six hours with the "sunburn" rash and that he also had the chicken-pox on top of that! He looked miserable! Anyway -- all better now!
On Thursday I went for my "almost 26 week" check up and glucose tolerance test. Everything went very well...I was able to keep down the nasty drink this time...which by the way, Zachary thought was the FUNNIEST thing ever to watch me hold my nose and drink that crap! Eli sounded good and we are still trucking along as planned! Here is the latest belly pic...
