Kindergarten Fieldtrip to the Zoo

On May 19th, Eli and I went with Zachary on his field trip to the Zoo. (Kudos to Granny for watching Tyler for me!) All of the kids had a blast! Eli had never been to a zoo before -- and the last time that Zachary was there was when Nathan and I took him there about four years ago. Each parent was supposed to take an extra child if needed, so we got to hang out with Zachary's lifelong friend (all of 6 years) Bethany, her mom and one other little boy...who for the sake of his privacy I will only refer to as B. (I don't know his parents and so I don't want to offend anyone.) I forget about the zoo being so close sometimes, but we plan on taking advantage of it again at some point this summer.

Here is B, Bethany and Zachary.

Eli loved all the birds!

And the monkeys really put on a show for everyone!

And anything shaped like the animal below is a "horsey" to Eli...so we saw a lot of horses!! :)

B wasn't used to so many pictures like Zachary and Bethany...they smile for each one and he was getting pretty tired of the cameras!

And the giraffes...these were quite a show on this particular day! Let me explain...

Take a good look at the male giraffe behind the female giraffe and imagine his next move. Yeah, I had to delete a lot of pictures because I wasn't paying attention to the animals!! :) And the funny thing about it was that all the parents and teachers realized what was happening all at the same time! So we went from saying..."Everyone look at the cameras...smile...say cheese...." to "oh, look over here...what about those elephants...come on kids, lets get out of here and go see the tigers!!" It was hilarious!

It was a great day!!
