The Best Part of Me...

"‎13 month engagement + 12 years together as Nate & Lyn + 11 million dollars in debt (or so it seems) + 10 years of marriage + 9 years each at our current employers + 8 years apart in age + 7 hospitalizations for myself alone + 6 different vehicles + 5 car wrecks/mishaps + 4 different homes + 3 precious boys + 2 different cities = 1 beautiful, crazy, fun, wonderful life with you!!! I love you Nathan Barnes!!"

On August 10 Nathan and I celebrated a very happy 10 year anniversary!!!  We had a big vacation away planned for the end of August.  But, as you know, Nathan had his seziure on August 29th and not only did our vacation plans change, but our lives did as well.

We did end up getting to go on our trip -- it was just a very short, "cliff-notes" version.  :)  So, instead of getting a week away, we decided on the final three days.  Nathan got out of the hospital on late Thursday night, and we headed out on Friday morning.  We had everything booked already at The Beaches of South Walton in Florida, including a sky-diving adventure and surfing lessons that we didn't get to go on -- but we did enjoy some relaxing time of the beach together.  And, we planned other things like eating at adorable restaurants and we also went snorkeling with dolphins!  Now, I am not a big ocean person -- in fact  I'm terrified of the ocean.  So Nathan and I were both very proud of myself when I actually went swimming!!  We even acted like kids again when we decided to go to town late one night to buy boogie boards.  Words cannot express how much this man means to me and how much I love him.  I can't go into any more detail there because I don't want to cry.  Let's just say that over the last seven weeks I've spent a lot of time thinking about us and about how much better my life is because of him.  I don't know what life would be like or who I would be if he was not here.  He truly is the best part of me.
