Vacation: Raising The Flag

One of the things that I remember growing up and that is a cherished memory is when I would watch my Grandpa raise the flag out in front of our cabin every morning and take it down every night.  My grandfather, being a retired pilot in the USAF, always took great pride in taking care of our Nation's flag and in teaching us to do the same.  So, in honor of him, I carried on the tradition and taught Zachary how to do it this year.  And so every morning, we raised the flag together and every evening we took it down, folded it correctly and stored it until it was time to hang it out again.  I'm so proud of my family and especially thankful for the service that my Grandpa provided to our country.  I'm also thankful that I could share this moment with my oldest son, who happens to be named after the Sheldon family and who also shares his birthday with my Grandpa.
