The Wilson County Fair

So in August, we took our annual family trip to the local county fair.  I must say that as the boys get older, these events become a lot more fun!  Zachary’s project from the spring semester of school was displayed at the fair this year – so he was SUPER proud of himself to see that!  Zachary is also getting daring and wanting to try better rides.  Eli learned this year that he can overcome his fears and attempt another ride – after a few hours to recover from initial ride!  And Tyler is loving the fact that he gets to keep all the prizes that are won!!  I learned a valuable lesson this year too…

See, Zachary has been on me for FOREVER to let him get a fish.  And of course, I have been putting it off.  Well, when he saw the “Win A Fish” booth at the fair, he started up again.  After watching kid after kid waste money and never get the ball in the little cup, I thought why not?  I’ll be a hero mom for letting him “attempt” to win a fish and then I’ll put off the fish conversation for a while again.  Needless to say that I TOTALLY underestimated Zachary and Eli’s abilities at this game and we left the fair as the proud owners of two fish – who were later named Wilson and George!
